Graduation Studio Photo Shoot at Ckvin Studio, Penang

Thanks to technology nowadays, i managed to find and book a studio (Ckvin Studio, Penang) for my personal graduation photo shoot. Initially, I asked my Penang friends whether they know any studio that I can take my photo shoot in Penang, but most of them said 'not sure' and 'dont know'. So, I randomly online search for 'graduation photo shoot in Penang' and I found this website. The package offered was reasonable and hence I called and made a reservation for my photo shoot. Ann was very friendly and ready to answer my call and reply my sms. I made a several changes for my booking and I really wanted to thank Ann that she managed to pull it off. In case you are searching for a studio for your graduation photo shoot, I suggest that you can try this studio (Ckvin Studio). Some of my friends took their graduation photos at this studio too. For more information, you can contact Ann at 016-415 0008 or follow them in facebook page. In case you are unable to find this studio or you got lost, you can try to use GPS by searching 'Gembira Parade'. In case you get lost again, here is the simple map. You can turn into BP Petrol and use the small lane. I am using the highway from Vistana Hotel.

They provided 2 backgrounds for the photo-shoot and they will help you to post the pictures (upon request) if you are unable to collect it in person. The way they handle my pictures was very thoughtful and they sealed the box properly. However, do not expect the box will be in a good condition.  I personally love their photo album: simple and sweet. The CD was attached behind the photo album.

*They did not ask or pay me for this. I just personally blog about it because they are worth to give-a-try.

*updated: They have moved to Tanjong Tokong. Please check out their facebook page for latest updates.

졸업하는 날 (Graduation Day)

Heard this song 졸업하는 날 (Graduation Day) by IU and it reminds me that i should blog about my graduation day while it's still fresh (though it was almost 1 month ago). After 4 years with a status of 'under'graduate student, it's THE DAY(22/09/12) that im wearing a square hat (aka mortar board). Frankly, i had a special feeling(unable to describe) when i wore the robe and mortar board. Graduation day was the most excited, tired and the day that i had the most heavy-heart-feeling in my life. It's the day that i am going to bid a goodBYE to all my West Malaysia friends. Thanks to the South China Sea that separated us apart. Is there any link-bridge that can connect the West and East in future???

A love letter from my university confirmed that i am officially graduated and qualified to receive the scroll.
Thanks to USM Registry for providing this useful website regarding convocation Q&A. Maps are provided in this website in case we get lost in USM Main Campus. For the past 4 years, though i was a USM student, the probability for me to get lost in Main Campus is 90%. FYI, USM is divided into 3 campuses: Main (Penang Island), Engineering (Nibong Tebal) and Health (Kelantan).
Had Hokkien Mee for my early brunch at Taman Lip Sin. Aww.... I miss Penang foodie.
Hokkien Mee aka Prawn Mee
Did some simple make-up and hairdo(special thanks to summer and her sis) at Summer's room. For your information, i (we) stayed at Vistana Hotel, Penang. Vistana Hotel is quite near to USM Main Campus and 10 minutes drive from Penang International Airport. I booked my room through Agoda once i knew my convocation date.
me and summer. Ready for convocation ^.^
The convocation ceremony started at 3pm but we were advised to register at the selected lecture hall around 1.30pm. It was super duper hard to find a parking slot during that day. So, remember to go earlier if you dont want to waste your car petrol. I was given 2 invitation cards when i collected my robe and mortar board.

Around 2pm, my friends and I were asked to line up and get prepared to enter the hall. I was given a program book at the entrance door and searched my seat according to the code given.

At 3pm SHARP, the ceremony started. We sang National Anthem (Negaraku) and University Song (Menara Ilmu) with lyrics provided on the screen. I sang University Song once during my university orientation day and i felt so proud singing this song again during my graduation. Then, names were read one after another according to the course.
can spot my name??

receiving my priceless scroll (photo credit to USM)
Was feeling so tense before receiving my scroll but i was feeling so excited after that. Chatted and took pictures with my coursemates.
L-R (CW): Isaac, Kausar, Choon Pau, Summer & Miko
Everyone was so excited when the last name was announced. The ceremony ended after the congratulate speech from the Pro-Chancellor. Was busy searching for my parents and friends once i came out from the hall. Almost cried when my parents said 'congratulations' to me cause i know they are proud of me. So, i should cut the crap now and spam my blog with the pictures.

Places of interest in Miri City

Few months back, some of my West Malaysia friends came to visit me. Thus, i worked as a part-time tour guide. Basically, there are a few MUST VISIT places if you get to come to Miri. Here are some of the suggested places:

1. Lambir National Park and it's around 40 minutes drive from Miri town.

2. I dont know how to name this place. It's after Piasau Golf Club. This place is famous for fishing. Suggested time is around 5.30pm if you do not want to miss the sunset.

3. Miri City Fan. It's a park and you can come here for a walk after dinner.

4. Niah National Park. Around 1+ hour drive from Miri town. It's an ideal place to burn some fat. Remember to bring along some foodie and drinks plus torchlight.

5. Miri City Seaside :)

6. Marina Bay with the largest seahorse in Miri City. Seahorse is a symbolic/ icon for Miri City. Every town/ city in Sarawak has their own icon. For example, Kuching = cat, Sarikei = pineapple and Serian = durian.

7. Hanging bridge or also known as Mini Sunway Lagoon.

8. Petroleum Museum. Entrance is free. Do visit during office hour :) Situated at Canada Hill.

9. The Grand Oil Lady. Situated at Canada Hill.

10. Canada hill. Can be considered as the highest peak in Miri. You can choose to come during day or night time.

USM KKj CF Farewell 2012

The day i am treated like a princess accompanied by so many brothers and sisters in Christ. I really thank God for these bunch of companions during my uni life and i am really touched by their hard work in preparing this Farewell Dinner with 'A Night To Shine' as the theme. Indeed, all my juniors were super SHINE that night with their performances. Everything was great. That night itself was my last (officially) time taking part in worship team in USMkkj CF. I love the food too but the performances attracted me more. The juniors sang a few 'emo' songs but i couldn't help myself to keep smiling for the entire night. Once again, GOOD JOB JUNIORS~~~ oh ya, the videos and the gifts were super meaningful too. There is a room for me to reflect on. So, shall we move on to the pictures moment?? :)
