I received an email from World Vision and i would like to share with all of you ^^
Each day, thousands of people arrive in cities driven by the hope of securing a better life. For many, that hope soon fades as they find themselves living in overcrowded and unsanitary squatter settlements, without access to basic health care, education, employment, and housing.
The fact remains that urbanisation bears serious economic, cultural, and social consequences. Many urbanites are living in poverty and, like it or not, we are all part of the picture.
In light of this, World Vision’s 30-Hour Famine Campaign this year is focusing on the issue of Urban Poverty with the theme, ‘Light Up Their Life!’
Let’s help light up their lives!
You can be a part of the solution! Join the 30-Hour Famine 2010 as a participant or donate to the Famine fund. Your action can make real change happen.
NEW! Kidz Famine: This year, we are introducing an eight-hour Famine, especially for children aged 4-12! We greatly encourage you, your children and friends to participate in this child-friendly version of the Famine.
